Description The course introduces students with the role and influence of international financial system on national economies under globalization. Continuous growth of such role is proven with the last financial crises, showing that it gets out of international financial organizations and needs transformation. The review of international financial system will give prospective on basic elements of international financial system and aspects that contribute to financial crises and globalization, and discusses the remedies that economists have suggested for addressing the underlying problem. The purpose of the course is to develop students` fundamental knowledge about the nature, structure and the functioning of the national financial system at every stage of its evolution, and impact of globalization. Objective of the course is to generate students` understanding of the basic principles of the globalization in the modern financial architecture, in order to use the practical knowledge gained in analysis of macroeconomic processes. The course covers the following topics: –       Changes in the global financial architecture –       International financial organizations –       Evolution of the monetary system –       The theory of dollarization and exchange policies –       Analysis of financial crises –       Effects of financial crises on the national financial systems –       Globalization and the role of international financial markets in the global economy –       Capital controls and integration issues –       Reforms of the national financial systems
